Reluctantly missed a Clergy Quiet Day today feeling very under the weather - though much better by the evening. As a result spent the day snoozing in chair watching the events in London unfold on television.
Having been caught up in the events of the IRA campaigns it is odd what memories it evokes two in particular
- most noticeably memories of being told to leave the area by frantic policemen but not actually knowing which way to run
- the odd memory of traffic lights continuing to work in traffic free streets ~ and a peculiarly deep seated wish that someone would switch them off until they were needed.
Impressed with both Ken Livingstone's response, and ABC response from Yorkshire.
Blessings to all directly involved particularly clergy locally ministering to families
May God's healing power be with those memories.
