I have finally taken the plunge and the music Mac Pro has arrived - so I am experiencing that strange learning curve which comes from changing OS - 25 years of PC use does not prepare you for a Mac and its way of working.
It is an aesthetic delight - even the clips holding the cabling together in the box are works of art which makes a change from the average PC.
Had CW installed the extra hard disc currently then all would have been working within 10 minutes of switching it on for the first time. It was vaguely reassuring that it was sloppiness on the part of the suppliers which let the machine down initially.
So far the I have simply loaded the key software - Ableton Live, Cubasis etc and linked up to the net which was simply a case of jabbing a Cat 5 cable between the router and the Mac.
Actually its the very simplicity of many things with the Mac which leads a PC users astray - processes cannot surely be that simple - together with Apple's tendency to assume that we use the same language.
Just to reassure PC users - you could get a very serious bit of PC kit for the price of the Mac Pro which would include a decent touch-type keyboard and a mouse that works as it says on the box - neither of which come with a Mac Pro - uuuugh!
